ROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Twenty five years experience in print media as a photojournalist. Working for Hindustan Timesas Deputy Chief Photographer in Kolkata.
Worked for The Indian Express & Financial Express in Kolkata and New Delhi (1991-2000) as a staff Photographer.
Worked as freelance photojournalist for - Ananda Bazar Group of publications, Sunday Mail, Satyajug, Nabakallol, Azad Hind & Evening Brief.

QUALIFICATION ACADEMIC:

B.Com Graduate ( papered but not completed ) from Calcutta University in 1987.

Three of my works got nomination for Sony’s Soccerography - FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa.
Five of my works was show cased by GALLERY INDIAN IMAGES “First Leaf of Spring” along with US-based Jiri Turek (photographer), Nemai Ghosh (photographer), Group show of B/W Photographs in Bombay & Kolkata organized by British Council 1995-96.
Solo exhibition of water colour at the Academy of Fine Arts in the year 1979 .
Five group shows of water colour & pastel, twice at the Academy of Fine Arts, twice at Birla Academy of Art & Culture, Kolkata Prakash Karmakar (painter), Jogen Chowdhury(painter), Samir Aich (painter) & others in March 2010.
Two of my works was showcased in CLICK! Contemporary photography in India by Vadehra Art Gallery in New Delhi & London 2008.
A Solo Photography Show in Kolkata Information Center in November 2007.
Four works of my Portfolio on B/W was selected for the 4th All India Photo Exhibition in New Delhi by AIFACS in the year 1997.

AWARD:

Received Journalist of the Month award from HINDUSTAN TIMES for outstanding contribution in the field of Photography, for the month of October 2013 & March 2014.
A body of works entitled "Gurukala" have won performance award in the Education, Recreation, Sports & Technology Categories of HUMANITY PHOTO AWARDS 2013 ( HPA ) , CHINA.
Winner of the 2009 Friends of the Earth International photo competition (Netherlands) on the theme Biodiversity Lost, Biodiversity Preserved.
Winner from Sports Journalist’s Association of Mumbai for Best Cricket Portrait 2007.
Winner from India an International award of 4^th COMMONWEALTH PHOTOGRAPHIC CONTEST 2003 - 2004.
First prize from ‘Samsung Spirit of the Asiad’ Photo contest 2002
Honoured by Indian Tourism Development Corporation (Govt. of India) for Tourism Photo Contest in New Delhi in the year 1998.
