This glittering painting of Parvati and baby Ganesha depicts the beautiful mother-son relationship between our beloved ‘Bappa’ and Maa Parvati. Ganesha also known with many names as Ganapati, Gajana, Vinayak is the Hindu god worshipped in many homes. He is widely revered as the remover of obstacles, the patron of arts and sciences and the deva of intellect and wisdom. As an artist I have tried to include many symbols and details to build a relevant story to the painting. Shiva’s trishul shows the powerful presence of the lord. Ma Parvati is strongly behind baby Ganesha projecting her love and strength. The mouse which sits on Lord Ganesha’s feet is called Mooshak. The peacock signifies beauty and is also the vahan/ vehicle of Ganesha’s brother Kartikaye. The vibrant colour scheme used in the painting hopefully create a cheerful and festive ambiance. It has a textured border which adds to the uniqueness. This painting looks stunning in the light and shines due to the use of colorful glitter. It is the latest addition to the series of goddess paintings I have been working on recently.
