The norms of ritual, tradition and culture dictate the lives of rural people far more than urban people. In a conservative patriarchal society there are set of rules laid down for the women of the society. The notions of a women’s place being only within the confines of the household and not out into the open world are still much prevalent in these societies. Anyone going against these norms suffers from ostracise ion and condemnation. Belonging from the similar rural background I felt the urge to depict their situation as an intimate observer of their lives.
